Camper's checklist and tips

This is your camper's checklist. It will be useful to plan your vacation. You can print and keep it.

Before hitting the road
Get guides and maps to plan your itinerary
Reserve a campsite at the campground chosen
Have your mechanic check your vehicle and do regular maintenance
Cancel newspaper and other regular deliveries
Check your camping equipment (see list)

Make arrangements with someone reliable :
Leave them your itinerary and the registration number
Leave them your housekey
Have them look after maintenance around your house (for a long absence)
Arrange for care of pets and houseplants
Have them pick up your mail and circulars

Set ON/OFF timers on a few lamps
Notify the police (for a long absence)
Empty the refrigerator
Shut off the water heater
Lock the doors and windows

1 pressure cooker
2 aluminum saucepans
1 camping stove
Plates, bowls, cups and plastic glasses
Cooking utensils
Can opener/corkscrew
1 carving knife
1 vegetable knife
4 dish cloths
2 dish towels
1 plastic tablecloth
